In the framework of the project “Transcultural Competences in the Asylum Procedure – Counselling and Qualification” the EU-wide conference “Asylum Seekers in Europe: A New Transcultural Home or A Homeless Nation?” took place in cooperation with the Zohre Esmaeli Foundation on 09th and 10th of August. The conference included high-quality expert contributions and served to network various actors and decision-makers in the asylum system.
Against the background of a transcultural approach, the realities of the German and European asylum system were discussed:
- What role do asylum and integration policies as well as media narratives play?
- What does this mean for migrant identities and participation in a post-migrant society?
In the course of the two days, there were various keynote lectures with international speakers such as Omid Nouripour, Marius Rascanum, Dr. Bernd Kasparek, Prof. Dr. Naika Foroutan, Dr. Rohulla Amin and Anwar Al-Bunni.
